Cool Car Looking For A New Home – 2002 PT Cruiser Limited Edition

2002 PT CruiserHey Cool Car Fans,

I got some flack from Dave Hopwood for calling some of the cars I put up here “cool”, but a cool car is whatever is cool to you.  After all, you’re the one driving it and Dave drives a Ford Explorer with 208,000 miles, so we can’t exactly ask his opinion on what’s cool.

SOLD! buy Threat of Exposure

I had a client contact me last week, she found me through one of the many sources that know about me online, such as Goblin Network, Twitter, Facebook, etc.  She asked me to help a retired gentleman sell his 2002 PT Cruiser Limited Edition The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard video that he hardly drove with just 29,800 miles on it. He can’t drive anymore because of his health, so I am helping him sell his vehicle.  I took it in for a safety inspection and it needs some work that will be done before taking delivery. I’m putting details of it here at CoolCarGuy.com for people to find out about it, so contact me if you are interested in this vehicle.

This vehicle will have a new set of brakes and tires, along with any other work that it needs from having a safety inspection done.  When this vehicle is delivered it will need nothing!  It has leather, is an automatic, has a sunroof, heated seats, stone white with gray interior, plus much more.

2002PTCruiser2I can get you financed with 40 credit unions and a number of banks to choose from through JFR & Associates. If you are interested and want to see it, call me at 720-771-6269 and I’ll get in touch with my client to show it to you.

Ref: Stock number 2002PT

I’m listing it at $7,495 for a quick sale and these are hard to find. If you check AutoTrader, this is the best priced one around, there are only 12 of them available, with the lowest miles and it will without a doubt be in the best condition.

The used car market is going great, so don’t believe the headlines that the auto industry is hurting. New car sales are in the tank, but used car sales are strong in Denver and abroad.

People still have to drive, cars break down and have to be replaced and more people are buying used vehicles right now, but finding them can be a challenge.

Check out NADA for details on this 2002 PT Cruiser, which at the time of this posting is $8,575 for clean retail.

Cool Car Shot – 2007 Mustang GT Eleanor Tribute

CCG Ad1Hey Cool Car Fans,

A client of mine is selling his lime green 2005 Mustang GT that I got for him a few years ago. We have it on consignment right now and I’m surprised that it hasn’t disappeared, especially since you can lease this vehicle with a great monthly payment.  He also just dropped the price to make it affordable compared to buying a new one.

I had a definitive car guy, Mr. Clark Jeffreys, email me details on his 2007 Mustang GT Eleanor Tribute vehicle.  It was too cool to not do a Cool Car Shot and have it featured at CoolCarGuy.com for Cool Car Fans.

He wrote me the following, along with two photos of this extremely cool car.  If you haven’t seen “Gone In Sixty Seconds” with Nicolas Cage,  Angelina Jolie and Robert Duvall I would definitely list that as a Don’t Miss It, you may want to add it to your video collection.

“Hey John,

I thought you might like to take a look at the 07′ that was built into an Eleanor Tribute “Gone in Sixty Seconds” Mustang.
It has 615 HP, 545 ft.lbs torque,  Twin screw liquid cooled SC, ceramic exhaust and headers, 12″ slotted and drilled rotors, with a 6 spd tranny and 3:73 posi to bring up the rear.”

Look at that bad girl!  This is definitely all that and a bag of chips!  As a tribute to this vehicle, I’m dropping in the YouTube Trailor for the movie, “Gone In Sixty Seconds”.  If you’re on the front page of CoolCarGuy.com then click here for a better aspect ratio photo of the vehicle since the site is compressing the photo to fit on the home page of CoolCarGuy.com.

When you get up to this kind of horsepower you have to know how to drive and I’m not talking about just being able to get behind the wheel, put it in gear and hit the accelerator pedal.  No, you have to know how to handle 615 horses under the hood of a vehicle that has a curb weight (lbs) 3,483 or you can easily lose control of a vehicle like this and wrap it around a tree or something worse.

Cool Car Guy – Cool Car Shot – 2008 Mini Cooper Clubman Concept

Hey Cool Car Fans,

Mini Clubman 2Earlier today on The Cool Car Guy Show I mentioned that the new 2008 Mini Clubman is coming out soon and that I would locate a photo to post online for people to check it out.

Mini Clubman 1Here are two photos that I found of the concept car that I thought were pretty cool looking. The actual vehicle is being marketed on the Mini.com website with a very cool flash video being presented on the Germany site for Mini. Just go to Mini.com and click on the link to the German website to watch the flash presentation.
Mini Clubman 3

Mini Clubman 4The Mini Clubman will hit the streets in Europe this November. There are some cool new features on this “stretched” Mini model that I was telling our listeners about earlier today. I’m bringing a Mini Cooper S down to the studio tomorrow for Bill to take for a test drive and possibly get as a commuter car alternative to his Honda Pilot.

Mini Clubman 5The Mini Clubman is not available in the U.S. until next year, but it’s a new5-door Mini Cooper that is longer, offers more leg room, and incorporates a suicide door on one side of the vehicle. This is a rear-hinged door on the right side of the car that swings open in the opposing direction relative to the main passenger door increasing access to the rear seating area while providing a very sporty look and feel.

Mini Clubman 6 I think the unique rear-end design of split-rear doors not only gives the vehicle more functionality with easier access to the back, but definitely adds some additional character to this already cool looking little car. The interior looks retro and stylish like the current Mini Coopers. And from what I’ve read this Mini model will also have options in the engine compartment with the turbo-charged engines being available and sport-tuned suspension to go along with the increase in performance.

Finally, there should also be some energy saving features built into the Mini Clubman as well that should come from the parent company BMW that we will have to wait to see if they show up in the U.S. models. Of course, we won’t know for sure until it’s debut in the U.S. next year, but I’m sure I’ll be getting calls for this vehicle as soon as it hits our shores.

    Cool Car Guy – “Cool Car Shot” – 2006 MX-5 Miata & 2007 MINI Cooper S

    Hey Cool Car Fans,

06 Miata MX-5My brother-in-law Bruce Smith of Shakopee, Minnesota sent me photos of his wife’s 2007 Mini Cooper S and his 2006 Grand Touring Miata MX-5. These are really fun little sports cars that are a blast to drive. I’ve driven a number of very cool Mini Coopers and I’ve owned three Mazda Miata’s over the years.

06 Miata MX-5The MX-5 Miata is Mazda’s two-seat, rear-wheel-drive convertible sports car that was completely redesigned for the 2006 model year. The 06′ Mazda MX-5 Miata is equipped with a 170-horsepower DOHC 2.0-liter engine, that comes with a 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission standard. The 6-speed automatic was optional, with a horsepower reduction down to 166 horsepower, but I don’t know who would want an automatic in this vehicle. In 2006 they made the MX-5 Miata a little larger to provide more interior room and the convertible top now includes a glass rear window and a hardtop also was available, both were something I could have used with my former Miata’s.

The Grand Touring model had an original MSRP of $24,435, which isn’t bad for a fun little sports car like this one. It also gets around 30MPG on the highway, which is really great when we’re paying $3.00 a gallon for gas. Most surprising though is the fact that the 170hp speeds the 06′ MX-5 Miata from 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. Plenty fast! The manufacturer’s warranty is four years or 48,000 miles, whichever comes first.

07 CooperS 1Their other little sports car in their arsenal is the 2007 Mini Cooper S. These little guys are a hoot to drive as well and a great value at just $21,200 for the Base Retail price, plus options. The 2007 MINI Cooper has also been completely redesigned from the ground up. It has a little longer body than previous years, but still keeps the cool factor. The exterior has a new hexagon radiator grille, which you can see in this photo. There are also direction indicator lights fully integrated in the headlights and plenty of chrome to go around. The Cooper S has a sportier suspension set-up and its engine compartment lid curves up about 0.8 inches more than the standard model to make room for the fast and fun turbocharged engine.

07 CooperS 2As I mentioned, the 2007 Cooper S has a brand-new 172-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that produces 177 lb-ft of torque. Another cool new feature is the special Overboost function in the Cooper S that can increase torque to 192 lb-ft for a short time. Both engines are paired to a standard 6 speed manual transmission with an optional 6 speed automatic. Hopefully, they went with the 6 speed manual for the fun factor.

07 CooperS 3Another new feature on the 2007 is the BMW start/stop button ignition that replaces the conventional key. There is also new ambient illumination and a larger center speedometer has been enhanced for a new range of functions including the display of controls for the navigation entertainment system. The Cooper S is equipped with 16-inch tires for more road hugging and better handling. The warranty on the Mini is similar to the Miata at 4 years, 50,000 miles and it gets around 36MPG on the highway.
