If you were listening to The Cool Car Guy Show today on Castle Rock Radio I told our listener’s that I would share some links about finding out more information concerningThe Black Box or Event Data Recorders that are in millions of vehicles today.

Harris Technical has a PDF file that you can download by clicking on the highlighted link to Harris Technical that will show if your vehicle has an EDR built in.

I also found a couple websites that have some great information about the Event Data Recorders that have been installed in vehicles, including some legislative issues related to this interesting topic. The first one can be found at the famous Wikipedia website at Wikipedia EDR and a very interesting article at the National Conference of State Legislatures showing how individual States have responded to this new technology issue.

on the air to talk about her unique automotive website for women that was recently acquired by Cars.com

Kristin shared with us some of the cool cars that she has been able to drive as the Founder and ace car reviewer for MotherProof.com, including the new Chevy Equinox Hydrogen vehicle and the new Chevy Tahoe Hybrid. She was on her way to the Los Angeles Auto Show to check out some of the new Mom mobiles that will be on display and she had recently returned from SEMA in Las Vegas.

I really appreciated her thoughts on the benefits of the Mini Cooper from a Mom’s perspective as she pointed out the benefits of the one piece molded seats in the back that won’t allow kid crud to get under the seats. Also, the ease of getting in and out of the seat belts for kids, which isn’t something that most people would think about when purchasing a Mini. She also told us about how much she enjoyed driving the Mazda CX9 and the Hyundai Veracruz as highly functional Mom cruisers that give plenty of bang for the buck.

Unfortunately, one of our producers forgot to hit the record button to archive today’s live broadcast on Castle Rock Radio, but that just means we will have to get her back on The Cool Car Guy Show again when she’s back in town sometime down the road.

If you were listening to The Cool Car Guy Show today on Castle Rock Radio I mentioned that I would post a link to the new car club in Castle Rock called The Vintage Car Club.

The Vintage Car Club already has 30 to 35 people who have expressed and interest in joining with cars ranging from 1931 Fords to 1967 Camaro’s and everything in between. Charlie & Allison Maiwurm recently moved from Alexandria, Minnesota to Castle Rock, Colorado and they are behind the launch of this unique automotive enthusiast experience.

Even if you don’t own a vintage car, but you like cars you are welcome to join the non-profit club and attend the upcoming meetings.

The next meeting will be held at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock, Colorado on November 8th at 7PM. The library is right downtown Castle Rock on the East side of Wilcox Street across from the Town Hall.
