The Cool Car Guy – Happy New Year!

Hey Cool Car Fans,

Castle Rock Radio Happy New Year!

I’ll be returning back LIVE tomorrow morning from 10AM – 11AM on The Cool Car Guy Show on Castle Rock Radio.

If you haven’t tuned into The Cool Car Guy Show lately, you’re missing out on some great information about what’s happening in the automotive industry. Along, with some real life stories about how I’ve been able to assist people in buying, selling, leasing and trading their vehicles.

Conroy_HummerYesterday, I had a woman who I was working with that I was able to get approved for an interest rate of just 5.99%, this was after being turned down by one bank and offered a rate of 8.25% by another bank. That’s a significant difference in monthly payment and substantial interest savings. Unless of course, you like giving banks more of your money on your purchases. If she were to go to a traditional dealership, the odds are pretty good that they would never tell her about the lower interest rate. Frankly, they probably couldn’t get it for her, but they would have sold her the vehicle at 8.25%, 9.25% or even more to put additional profit in the transaction.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with the dealership turning a profit, since that’s why they are in business. However, the reality is that most people have no clue what is going on behind the scenes at the dealership when they are purchasing a vehicle on their own. You can’t fault the person either since most people only buy a car once every few years or so and the dealership is doing transactions for their business everyday.

“As a professional automotive consultant I provide buying, selling and leasing services for a specific clientele of individuals and companies who don’t have the time, or just don’t want to, run around from dealership to dealership or private parties shopping for vehicles. I do this with no upfront financial commitment on their part and I locate these vehicles either through the dealer auctions, private parties, my existing client base, or dealer inventories. My services are offered exclusively on a referral, repeat or relationship basis. I don’t advertise my services to gain new clients, but you can only obtain this service by being referred to me or knowing me personally.”

This week on The Cool Car Guy Show I’ll be discussing some of the following issues that are taking place right now in the automotive industry and automotive news.

  • In Australia, motorists are to be offered incentives on safe cars in new road toll plan
  • ‘Grease cars’, what are they and are they the answer to high gas prices?
  • California restricts smoking in cars
  • Older folks: Smaller cars are easier to drive
  • Now, biodegradable-racing cars with top speeds of 150mph!
  • The Best Cars to Own When It’s Time to Sell
  • Rats versus cars? Bet on the rats
  • Hybrid Electric Cars: The Environmental Friendly Cars
  • Plus much more…
  • Have a great day and be sure and tune into The Cool Car Guy Show tomorrow!

    The Cool Car Guy Delivers A 2008 Subaru Forester

    RRCOn our way back from Disney World I got an email from a client of mine that she had referred a friend to me who wanted to purchase a new 2008 Subaru Forester and possibly help her sell a car. As I checked my messages getting off the plane at the Denver International Airport, I had a message from the woman, we will call “Ms. M”, that she was in the market for a 2008 Subaru Forester and needed my assistance.

    2008 Subaru Forester 2.5 X Standard Features
    * Starting at $21,695
    * 173-hp SUBARU BOXER engine
    * 166 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm
    * 120-watt 7-speaker audio system with subwoofer, 6-disc in-dash CD changer and MP3/WMA player
    * SIRIUSâ„¢ Satellite Radio capability
    * Perforated leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel
    * Silver painted roof rails
    * Automatic climate control system

    I called her on the 27th and explained to her my services. For those of you who are new to The Cool Car Guy Show on Castle Rock Radio.com or CoolCarGuy.com and you’re maybe wondering what it is that I do, let me explain what I share with most people who look to engage my services.

    After explaining The Cool Car Guy services to her she shared with me that she had already spoke with three dealerships in the Denver area and her frustration was growing as she was getting different prices from each of them for the same vehicle. Of course, she also had the classic “call me last and I’ll give you the best price” that so many salespeople will use to get people to come through the door, but ultimately they are not the decision maker since they are an employee of the dealership.

    I explained to “Ms. M” that a dealership could beat whatever price I could offer her on a new vehicle, if they really wanted. This is because they control the new vehicle market, but they have overhead, employees, rent and other expenses that I don’t have as an automotive consultant. She could expect to have a different price when she walked through the door and met with her salesperson because someone can say whatever they want over the phone. After she wastes a few hours of her time haggling in their dealership, she will head to the finance department for an explanation of an extended warranty and engage in a presentation of up to five different profit centers presented by several people other than her salesperson before she gets out the door. Just ask yourself why people hate buying cars, if you don’t believe me.

    Using my service, it would be like ordering a pizza complete with free delivery. She would tell me what features she wanted on her vehicle, including the color she wanted and I would get her the price before I show up at her home to sign paperwork at her kitchen table and park her new vehicle in her garage. No negotiating or brain damage and I’ll typically be within a few hundred dollars of the best price she would get negotiating for hours in a dealership on her own.

    If you like that experience then I’m not your guy, but over 300 people have had The Cool Car Guy experience and you can too.

    What was the outcome? On December 27th she engaged my service and on December 28th at 1PM I met her at her home, shoveled the snow out of her driveway to move her Honda Prelude that was stuck in the snow and park it on the street to make room for her new car. She got her black 2008 Subaru Forester Premium X for $200 more than the best price she got over the phone from the local dealership. She never had to leave her home, received service she wouldn’t get anywhere else and took a few of my business cards to tell her friends.

    Another happy Cool Car Guy client!

    This is just one of hundreds of stories about friends and family members who engage The Cool Car Guy to get their vehicle instead of going through the traditional brain damage that lead to so many people being frustrated with the process of getting a new or used vehicle. I also can provide my service for any type of vehicle and any price range, which means any make, any model, any price and you can work with The Cool Car Guy.

    By the way, the client who referred her to me will be getting a free trip to the movies from The Cool Car Guy. So, if you’re a client of mine or a frequent visitor to CoolCarGuy.com or listener to The Cool Car Guy Show refer your friends and family if they are in the market for a different vehicle.

    The Cool Car Guy Discusses Invoice Or Interest Rate On A CRV

    08CRVOver the Christmas holiday, I had a client call me, we’ll call him “Mr. X” about getting a new 2008 Honda CRV and unfortunately I was out of town to get the vehicle for him, but his boss had a car salesman at a local dealership “that he always used” who he referred him to for his services. Now, don’t get me wrong with what I’m going to share here because it doesn’t rock my world when a client decides to go and get a car on their own because I know they’ll be back down the road when they decide they want something other than a Honda for their next ride.

    He was able to get the vehicle at the dealer invoice, which wasn’t a bad deal for a 2008 Honda CRV, I probably would have been a couple hundred over invoice for the same vehicle. I honestly don’t know because I never shopped it, but I’ll assume that I would be a little more than the dealership. This may shock many people because everyone focuses on the price of the vehicle instead of the actual cost of the vehicle. What do I mean by this? Well, let’s hypothetically say that “Mr. X” got an interest rate of 9.9% offered by the dealership, but I could have got him an interest rate of 8.25% for the same vehicle. Doesn’t seem like much of a spread in the interest rate, does it?

    Well, If he finances that vehicle for 60 months and makes the minimum payments, which most people do, he will pay about $1,200 more for the same vehicle than if he purchased it from me for say $200 over invoice? That’s a savings of $1,000 or $1,000 back of invoice. I save my clients hundreds and even thousands of dollars on vehicles compared to purchasing on their own because I know how to structure the entire vehicle purchase for maximum benefit.

    How can I offer a better interest rate? I buy, sell, trade and lease vehicles everyday for hundreds of clients who have engaged me for their services. I hang my license as an Independent Contractor at a car dealership, JFR & Associates in Littleton, Colorado that gives me access to 40 different Credit Unions and around 20 different banks. In other words, I’m going to shop for the best interest rate for my clients. I can even assist clients with credit challenges to get them a better rate than they would be able to do on their own. If they try to get a loan on their own, they are one car deal, where at JFR & Associates we sell 150 – 200 cars a month or even more. Who do you think the bank is going to be more flexible with?

    When you go into the dealership and purchase a new vehicle at invoice the dealership needs to make up for the money they are not making on the vehicle, so they hit you with a higher interest rate and get paid on the back-end. How many people make this mistake because they get “lost in the ether” as I call it that they are getting a good “deal” when they are not in a position to negotiate from a position of strength. When you use the services of The Cool Car Guy the emotion is out of it for me. I’m not going to get emotionally attached to your car, but I’m going to get you the best value and you’ll be saving money in the long run.

    The Cool Car Guy's Christmas In Disney World

    Hey Cool Car Fans,

    RRCMerry Christmas & Happy New Year to you from The Cool Car Guy. My wife, Becky and I along with our three kids Conroy, Corban and Bianca spent Christmas in Disney World. We all had a great time and I figured I would share with my visitors some of the highlights of our trip related to cars.

    RRCI was surprised how many rides are centered around cars. One of the coolest rides that we went on, probably our favorite, was The Rockin Rollercoaste

    r at MGM. This roller coaster ride launches the rider in a limousine style roller coaster from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds with the band Aerosmith blasting in the background. That was definitely worth waiting in the 80 minute long lines for a ride. After all, what car guy doesn’t like to go from 0-60 mph on anything?

    TT1The other car ride Test Track at Epcot was sponsored by GM and takes the rider in a car that goes through a series of tests similar to what cars go through before they ever get put into production. This was a very educational ride in that it taught the rider about ABS brakes, air bags, crash test ratings and other issues related to building a modern automobile while the visitor is waiting in the long line for the ride. There are plenty of twists, turns and speed on this ride as well. The kids and everyone loved this ride.

    TT2On just about every big ride in Disney World you will end up in a gift shop where you can blow some more money on Disney goodies. At the end of Test Track the riders end up in GM showroom first where you can check out cool cars and get information on the latest and greatest GM has to offer. I took a photo of Becky in front of one of the latest concept cars by GM. The Chevy Volt is due out in 2010 according to GM, but we’ll have to see if they hit that date. There’s a good article about this subject in Houston Chronicle that you may want to check out.

    LightningAfter Test Track we headed back to MGM studios where we saw the star of the Disney Pixar film Cars The Violent Kind , Lightning McQueen rolling down the street on our way to one of one of the coolest shows at Disney World called Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show that takes you into a behind the scenes view of movie making.

    LMA2You want don’t want to miss this show that takes place in an outside stadium without a bad seat in the house. Make sure you get there about 30 minutes early to get a seat and you’re in for a real treat. We met my sister Elizabeth Morgan and my nephew Sterling down in Disney World and saw this show with them. Everyone loved it!

    LMA1Lights, Motors, Action! is setup as a movie shoot with stunt men and fast cool stunt cars involved in a high speed chase. The cars are modified for this show for balance and precision driving equipped with motorcycle engines. As well as near-misses, and wild acrobatics, the show features stunts, such as jumps through glass, wall of flames, and high falls. This is definitely a show you don’t want to miss.

    In the end, we had a great time and we’re glad to be back in Colorado where we landed on the 26th in between two snow storms. I was back on The Cool Car Guy Show on Castle Rock Radio.com on Thursday the 27th and I was able to assist a couple clients with their vehicles. I’ll be back on the air on January 2nd, so be sure and tune in for the latest in amazing automotive news you won’t hear anywhere else from 10AM – 11AM.
